I attended the Math Magnet at Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas, for three years. I graduated from Kaufman High School in Kaufman, Texas, in 1992.
I attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. I received my Bachelors of Business Administration in 1996. I returned to HSU in 2002 to go through their Education program to become a teacher and work towards a Masters in Reading. I was unable to finish my Masters due to having to move back to Dallas for family obligations.
I have a BBA in Finance from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
I am certified to teach all core subjects for grades Early Childhood - 8th Grade. I also have certifications in 4-8 Reading, Social Studies, and EC - 4 ESL.
I am a current member of the Region 8 TRC Science Collaborative. This allows me to attend over 80 hours of intense training in Science during the summer. I then collaborate with fellow Science teachers at LEMS to share the awesome information and materials that I receive during the summer.
I started teaching Science at LEMS in 2013.
Prior to moving to the area, I taught in Dallas ISD. I taught 3rd, 5th, and 6th Grade at Stevens Park Elementary from 2007 - 2012, I then taught 8th Grade Reading/Language Arts at Boude Storey Middle School from 2012 - 2013.
I am married to a wonderful man who is a Substitute for LEISD. I have one step-son that is 17 and lives with us. I have 3 step children and one awesome Granddaughter who all live in Kansas. Jackie, aka Turtle, was born November 16, 2014. My family has 4 cats and 4 dogs. They are my fur babies.
